I (Bob Meli) spoke to Walter Eckel at a VFW
meeting at the Troast Club in Hackensack on February 9, 2011.  

Walter Eckel told me he attended
Hackensack High School from 1958 until 1961 when he graduated. 

He was in the service from 1965 until 1966 during the Vietnam conflict and was stationed in Korea where he served as an Electronics Tech. 

He worked primarily on a Drone which did surveillance of the enemy.
